Professional
To become a professional member requires that the candidate possess two years experience as a building inspection engineer or architect and five years total engineering experience.
Executive
To become an executive member requires that the candidate possess five years experience as a building inspection engineer or architect and five years total engineering experience.
Diplomate
To become a diplomate requires that the candidate possess fifteen years experience as a building inspection engineer or architect and twenty years total engineering experience. In addition, a special category, Fellow of the Academy, has been designated for those diplomates who have distinguished themselves in the building inspection profession. Fellows are selected through nominations to the membership committee and individually voted on by the Board of Directors.
SPECIAL MEMBERSHIPS
Special memberships have been designated for both students and those who actively participate in the industry but who fail to meet the criteria for full membership. These special categories are: Intern, Student Affiliate, and Correspondent.
Finally, our International Affiliates memberships are offered to those fellow engineers who practice outside the United States.
Intern
Intern memberships are available to engineer interns or degreed engineers who are in process of taking their licensure exams.
Student Affiliate

Correspondent
Available to associates in business usually persons having an interest in building inspection, investigation and consultation.
International Affiliates
